Strengthening Climate Resilience through People Centered Approaches: Farmer Field Schools and Dimitra Clubs in Senegal
The resilience of Senegal's communities to climate change was enhanced by the project, Mainstreaming ecosystem-based approaches to climate resilient rural livelihoods in vulnerable rural areas through the Farmer Field School methodology, by building the capacity of communities and women through two innovative, people-centered approches—Farmer Field Schools (FFS) and Dimitra Clubs, and by strengthening agro-climate information communications and setting up a climate resilience fund for scaling up project achievements.
