This chapter of the book "Transforming Food Systems for a Rising India" identifies the pathways through which climate change will impact food security as essential to creating robust food systems. After analysing the impacts on crop and livestock productivity, on health and labour productivity and the increased vulnerability of poor regions, the chapter identifies measures to actively cut down emissions, strengthen safety nets, increase policy commitments to tackle climate change and improve investments and access to technology to both mitigate its effects and increase the scope for adaptation.
