Gender adaptation and disaster risk reduction – Policy brief
The policy brief gives an overview of global climate efforts and their linkages with gender mainstreaming. In the domains of adaptation and disaster risk reduction, there is increasing recognition of the need for gender-responsive action in response to climatic and disaster risk. Gender equality and women’s empowerment are seen as key to the success of all post-2015 multilateral agendas, including 2030 Agenda, the Paris Agreement, the Sendai Framework, and all future actions on reducing climatic and disaster risk.
