Paragraph 2 of the Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture (KJWA), the historic document adopted at COP 23 underlining the importance of agriculture in tackling climate change, provides a list of initial elements on which Parties and observers to the UNFCCC were invited to submit their views. FAO, in collaboration with CMCC, is producing a summary of the submissions provided by Parties and observers to the UNFCCC on the topic 2(b) – Methods and approaches for assessing adaptation, adaptation co-benefits and resilience and topic 2(c) – Improved soil carbon, soil health and soil fertility under grassland and cropland as well as integrated systems, including water management. On October 1, 2019, CMCC researcher Maria Vincenza Chiriacò presented the issue during the CMCC – FAO webinar “Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture: views from Parties and observers on topics 2(b) and 2(c)”.
