The Participatory Rural/Relaxed Appraisal (PRA) is a participative and community-based research methodology which puts emphasis on empowering local people to assume an active role in analysing their own living conditions, problems and potentials in order to seek for a change of their situation. This link provides an overview and descriptions of the PRA tools, which include: resource mapping; social mapping; wealth ranking objectives; local perceptions of malnutrition; seasonal calendar; income and expenditure matrix; daily evaluation and planning meeting.
